Approval has been granted for an enclosed construction site to facilitate the building of a new £56m Hawick High School.

Construction site accommodation associated with the approved development of the high school is to be located on land north of Volunteer Park in Buccleuch Road.

The proposal comprises modular site accommodation, welfare facilities, site offices and a dedicated Scottish Borders Council training space.

A report with the application, approved by SBC, states: “The compound will be actively managed throughout the construction period, with segregated movement routes for staff, operatives and visitors to ensure safe and efficient operation.

“The proposed temporary site accommodation represents a necessary and proportionate enabling development to support the delivery of the approved Hawick High School.”
