Edinburgh’s Gravity Beer Festival is set to return to Summerhall later this month, bringing more than 60 beers and ciders to the capital.
The annual event, organised by Barney’s Beer, will take place on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, with four sessions available across the weekend.
Now in its fourth year, the festival will feature beers from 16 breweries and one cidery, with an expanded international presence alongside some of the UK’s best-known independent brewers.
Among those attending will be Edinburgh breweries Pilot Beer and Barney’s Beer, as well as American craft brewer Sierra Madre and Austrian brewery Stiegl.
The festival operates on an ‘all-in’ ticket system, meaning more than 60 beers and ciders are included in the admission price.
Tickets also include a branded Gravity Beer Festival glass, while visitors can take part in free tutored talks and tastings during each session.
A dedicated no-and-low alcohol bar will also be available, alongside street food vendors in the Summerhall courtyard.
Barney’s Beer founder Andrew ‘Barney’ Barnett said the 2026 event could be the festival’s biggest yet.
He said: “Year four, and it might just be our best yet. We’re welcoming 15 brand new brewers to Summerhall this September.
“Over 60 beers, a no-and-low bar, tutored tastings, street food, and yes, dogs are still very much welcome.”
Barney’s Beer was established by Barnett in 2012 and is based at Summerhall, one of Edinburgh’s independent arts and cultural venues.
The brewery draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape and the brewing history of Summerhall, where a brewery is understood to have operated as far back as the 1700s.
Gravity Beer Festival was created by Barney’s Beer as a platform for brewers from across the UK and beyond, with the event designed to showcase a wide range of beer styles and flavours.
The festival will be held in The Dissection Room at Summerhall Arts & Culture Centre.
The four sessions are:
– Friday, September 25: 1pm–5pm
– Friday, September 25: 6pm–10pm
– Saturday, September 26: 12.30pm–4.30pm
– Saturday, September 26: 6pm–10pm
Tickets are priced at £38.75, including access to the beers and ciders being poured and a branded festival glass.
