A Parent Council at a Borders school is seeking a financial fillip to cover the cost of a vending machine.
The aim is to install a new vending machine in the Jedburgh Grammar Campus central atrium to be used by the pupils and members of the community.
The profit from running the vending machine will remain with the Parent Council to assist with school projects.
An application to Jedburgh Common Good Fund Sub-Committee for £2,400 to cover the costs of the vending machine will be considered next week.
The Parent Council needs to raise funds each year to assist with items such as transport for school trips and additional resources for the school.
In previous years this has included musical instruments, resources for Christmas celebrations and staff training for child well-being.
A vending machine was run by the school previously providing additional funds but the machine no longer works and therefore it is proposed that the Parent Council could take this opportunity forward to provide a constant income over the coming years to enable it to continue supporting school projects.
A report with the application states: “The project will provide opportunities for the children of Jedburgh residents within the school, it is important that children from all backgrounds are able to attend residentials and therefore funding from the Parent Council is required to keep costs manageable.
“The vending machine will also allow members of the community using the campus to be able to access the machine when attending activities in the school, for example those using the gym and exercise classes.”
