Oisin McEntee spoke to the press after Hearts picked up a point at home to kickstart their European campaign.

He first had this to say about the team’s performance, “Yeah, it was a tough game and a really, really physical performance. I feel like there was a lot of running, and the way we played and pressed, we needed to do that, and I feel like everyone put in a shift.”

When asked about the feelings within the dressing room after the game, McEntee had this to say, “A lot of the boys in the changing room, it’s their first game in Europe and I feel like we really, really did ourselves proud. The goal at the end it does put a dampener on things, but I feel like we have to look at the positives”

Speaking on his goal, “Listen, I was just dying to get that goal, and I’m delighted to get it, but I feel like I could have got another one in straight after with the header, it was a really good save from the keeper.”

He was also asked about the upcoming game at Celtic Park and the memories that will resurface, Oisin replied, “I wasn’t involved (due to injury). It was a tough one, really, really bitter taste and it was one of the toughest moments of my career.

But I think that a lot of those boys are new boys, they have their own careers. They have their own kind of goals and stuff, I don’t think they’ll be too fussed about it. They just want to go there and win the game.”

He was then asked whether Sunday’s huge clash is a chance to put down a marker in the title race, “Yeah, definitely, it’s so early in the season, you want to pick up as many points as you can, and it would be a great place to do it. So, I think all the boys are confident going into it.”

Finally, he was questioned on whether this team has what it takes to replicate the incredible season Hearts had last year, “Yeah, I think so, I don’t see why not. We’ve brought in so much talent, like some of the boys coming in, you see Josh McPake, Calvin Miller, Malachi, like huge, huge players and I don’t see why not.”
