Linlithgow will not be part of a new East Falkirk Constituency

Plans for the forthcoming Scottish Parliament elections are being finalised ahead of the poll on 7 May.
Population changes have prompted controversial boundary changes splitting West Lothian into three constituencies.
Linlithgow, the ancient county town of what was once Linlithgowshire will be part of a new East Falkirk Constituency.
A report to the council’s Executive detailed arrangement for new polling stations.
Caroline Burton, elections officer, told the meeting: “Linlithgow ward is split between the Bathgate and the Falkirk East and Linlithgow constituencies.
“The town of Linlithgow is in the Falkirk East and Linlithgow constituency and this is being administered by Kenneth Lawrie, Returning Officer for the other Falkirk constituencies.
“Work is ongoing with colleagues in Falkirk Council election team on the arrangements for delivering the poll.”
West Lothian now sits within the Central Scotland and Lothians West Region. The Regional Returning Officer (RRO) is Des Murray, the Returning Officer for North Lanarkshire and there has already been engagement with his team.
The newly created Bathgate constituency takes in the West Lothian council wards of Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh, Armadale and Blackridge, Bathgate and Whitburn and Blackburn, as well as rural parts of the Linlithgow ward. The rest of the county is part of the established Almond Valley constituency.
Councillors backed proposals for polling places with Linlithgow Primary servicing as a polling station for both the Bathgate and Linlithgow constituencies and Whitburn Partnership centre replacing two previous polling stations in the town.
Mrs Burton pointed out that polling cards would indicate the new venues within plenty of time for the election as well as giving details of how to access postal or proxy voting.
