West Lothian’s Pride in Place Board wants to hear from residents who believe they can shape a brighter future in three communities.
Applications are now open to those living in Blackburn, Fauldhouse and Whitburn or who are passionate about improving their area and want to contribute their skills, experience, and local knowledge to community decision-making.
The Neighbourhood Board provides an opportunity for community members to work alongside partners and stakeholders, helping to ensure that local priorities and resident voices are represented in projects and initiatives affecting the area.
Board members will have the chance to:
– Influence community-led projects and investment decisions.
– Represent the views and interests of local residents.
– Develop leadership, governance, and decision-making skills.
– Work collaboratively with fellow board members and partners.
– Help shape the long-term vision for the community.
Eric Lumsden, Independent Chair of the Board, said: “We are looking for people from all backgrounds and walks of life who care about their community and want to make a positive difference.
“Whether you have previous board experience or are completely new to this type of role, we welcome applications from anyone with a genuine commitment to supporting local residents and helping our communities thrive. The organisation is particularly keen to hear from a diverse range of applicants to ensure the board reflects the communities it serves.”
Successful applicants will receive an induction and ongoing support to help them fulfil their role effectively.
