ScotRail is ready to help thousands of music fans travel by rail to see Take That’s sell-out show in Glasgow, and Zach Bryan perform in Edinburgh this weekend.
The train operator is encouraging customers heading to the concerts to travel by train, as extra seats and additional services are confirmed.
Thousands of music fans are expected to roll up by rail when Take That bring their Circus Live tour to Barclays Hampden, this evening (Friday, 12 June), and again tomorrow night (Saturday, 13 June), before American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan performs at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in Edinburgh on Sunday, 14 June.
To support customers travelling to and from Hampden, ScotRail will run more services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida before and after the Take That concerts, as well as longer trains.
The train operator will also run an additional late-night service from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley after the concert each night.
Mount Florida is the closest station to Hampden, around a five-minute walk from the stadium, and customers are encouraged to travel early and allow extra time for their journey.
Queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central before the event, and at Mount Florida when the concert ends.
Customers travelling to Hampden should enter Glasgow Central via the Carriage Drive entrance off Hope Street. When heading home from Hampden, fans are asked to make their way back to Mount Florida station promptly and join the queue on Florida Street, accessed via Cathkinview Road. All other roads leading to the station will be closed to concert traffic.
For Zach Bryan fans travelling to Murrayfield on Sunday, ScotRail will add more carriages to services throughout the day on key routes in and out of Edinburgh, including Aberdeen, Dundee, the Borders, and Fife.
Customers travelling to Murrayfield are advised to use Haymarket station, which is a short walk or tram ride from the stadium.
After the concert, fans heading back to Haymarket should make their way to the station as soon as they can. Queuing systems will be in place, and customers should join the queue on Haymarket Terrace, where they will be directed to the correct platform for their train home.
Customers are required to have their tickets for travel before boarding. Tickets are available in advance through the ScotRail app, website, ticket offices, or self-service ticket machines.
ScotRail will have additional staff on hand throughout the weekend to provide information and assistance, helping customers enjoy a smooth journey.
