ScotRail is reminding customers that its new timetable will come into effect from Sunday, 17 May 2026.
The majority of the changes are on Saturdays and Sundays and are designed to meet growing demand for leisure travel, with additional services being introduced on a number of routes.
Alongside the additional services, customers will also benefit from fares being frozen until March 2027, ensuring rail remains an attractive choice for sustainable travel.
A small number of weekday services will also change to support operational requirements and planned engineering works, including work to electrify the Borders Railway route.
Customers are being encouraged to check their journeys in advance, as some train times may have changed.
Customers can view the latest timetables and check journey information by visiting the ScotRail website, or via the ScotRail app.
Mark Ilderton, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said:
“We are reminding customers that timetable changes will come into effect from Sunday, 17 May, with most changes focused on weekends to support the continued growth in leisure travel across Scotland.
“These additional services will provide customers with more choice and flexibility, helping more people travel by rail for leisure trips, events, and days out.
“There are also a small number of changes required to support operational requirements and planned engineering works on the Borders Railway, which will help enable the future electrification of the route.
“Customers should check their journeys before travelling, as some train times may have changed.”
