Scottish Borders Councillor Euan Jardine

The leader of Scottish Borders Council has urged people to have their say on budget spending.
A survey has been launched launched and feedback will help inform the council’s budget for 2027/28, which is due to be set in February 2027.
The survey explains how the council’s budget works, how funding is used and how residents can contribute to the decision-making process.
It asks for views on the council’s budget and community priorities, helping elected members understand what matters most to people across the region.
The survey builds on feedback gathered through the council’s Community Conversations programme, where residents have shared the issues and priorities that matter most in their communities.
Councillor Euan Jardine, leader of SBC, said: “The council’s budget affects services people rely on every day, so it is important that residents have the opportunity to tell us what matters most to them and their communities.
“We know there will be difficult choices ahead. Hearing directly from people across the Scottish Borders will help us understand their priorities and consider the impact of the decisions we need to make.
“I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey. Whether you use council services, support family members who do, or simply care about the future of your community, your views are valuable and will help inform our approach to the 2027/28 budget.”
