Staffing pressures have been blamed for the temporary closure of a Borders walk-in clinic – just two months after it opened.
NHS Borders launched the clinic at Hawick Community Hospital on Tuesday, April 28.
The service gives local patients additional access options to same day assessment for new and urgent health concerns.
The clinic is the first phase of a pilot service being introduced as part of a Scottish Government funded programme to improve access to primary care.
But “due to temporary staffing pressures” the clinic was closed today, Tuesday, June 30 and will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1.
It is expected to reopen on Thursday, July 2.
A spokesperson for NHS Borders thanked the public for their “understanding and co-operation”.
The new walk-in clinic is available for patients registered with Teviot and Mairches practices in Hawick, or Selkirk Medical Practice, who have a new health problem that started within the last two weeks.
