awick will be the setting for a summer festival if approval is granted this week.

Members of Hawick Common Good Fund Sub-Committee are to consider a request from Tunes by the Teviot for the use of Underhaugh/Wee Haugh on Saturday, August 15 for the community get-together.

Tunes by the Teviot is a volunteer-led, unincorporated association established to deliver community events that promote arts, culture and well-being for the benefit of Hawick and the surrounding area.

Its work focuses on creating accessible opportunities for local residents of all ages to come together, with particular emphasis on supporting families, young people and those who may otherwise face barriers to participation.

The organisation reinvest funds to sustain future events and distribute surplus income to local community groups, projects and initiatives, ensuring that the benefits are retained within and shared across the Hawick community.

Committee members will consider the request at a meeting on Wednesday, July 22.
