Hibernian FC have announced that an agreement has been reached to sign talented teenager and USA U20 international striker Colton Swan on a permanent transfer.
The 19-year-old joins from Charleston Battery – but will remain with them for the remainder of the 2026 USL Championship season – before joining up with David Gray’s side in December. The move is subject to international clearance and work permit approval.
Swan has enjoyed a breakout campaign in the USL this year, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists for Charleston.
The 6ft 2in forward came through the Colorado Rapids academy, where he won the Under-16 MLS Cup Golden Boot.
After finalising the deal, Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray commented:
“We’re really pleased to have agreed a deal for Colton. He’s a talented young striker who is certainly one for the future, and we feel he has attributes that will suit Scottish football.
“He’s quick, direct and works incredibly hard for the team – and he’s got a real hunger to develop and improve his game. He’ll finish the season with Charleston, and then we look forward to welcoming him to Easter Road later this year.”
Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “Colton is an exciting, hungry, young striker who has US youth international experience, and we feel he can be another great addition to our squad.
“Easter Road is the perfect environment for him to progress longer term, and we look forward to welcoming him to Edinburgh.”
