Law Road, North Berwick
Written by Midlothian View Reporter, Liam Eunson
Resurfacing work is set to take place on Law Road in North Berwick from Monday, November 9, with the improvements expected to be completed by Friday, December 4, weather permitting.
The work will involve resurfacing sections of the carriageway and footpaths and will be carried out in two phases to minimise disruption.
During the first phase, lasting around two weeks, Law Road will be closed between its junctions with St Margarets Road and St Andrew Street. Parking will also be suspended.
Once this section is complete, the road and footpath will reopen before the second phase begins.
The second phase will see Law Road closed between St Margarets Road and Clifford Road, with parking again suspended. Signed diversion routes will be in place.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the works, while delivery vehicles will be allowed into the site where possible.
Access to North Berwick Community Centre will also be maintained where practicable during the second phase.
Anyone with specific access requirements is asked to contact East Lothian Council by emailing roadservices@eastlothian.gov.uk.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said the work was being carried out by external contractors on behalf of the council, with funding from Transport Scotland.
The spokesperson apologised for any inconvenience and said the dates could change depending on the weather.
Updates on road restrictions will be published on the Tell Me Scotland website.
