Two of Midlothian’s best-loved Indian restaurants, The Radhuni and Itihaas, are celebrating almost a decade of supporting Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club, reinforcing their shared belief in the power of community and the importance of backing local grassroots sport.
The long-standing partnership has seen both of the award-winning restaurants stand by the club throughout one of the most remarkable periods in its 145-year history. From its roots in the junior game, Bonnyrigg Rose climbed through the Lowland League and into the Scottish Professional Football League, before returning to the Lowland League, where the club is now focused on earning promotion once again.
Founded in 1881, Bonnyrigg Rose has always been more than a football club. At its heart is a community built on generations of volunteers, supporters and local businesses, while its wider club continues to provide opportunities for hundreds of young players through its thriving community football programme.
For nearly 10 years, The Radhuni and Itihaas have proudly supported the club as sponsors, with both restaurants featuring on the home and away strips. Their longstanding commitment has helped the club meet essential running costs, maintain facilities and strengthen its ability to compete on the pitch.
The partnership is just one example of the vital role local businesses play in helping Bonnyrigg Rose thrive, both on and off the field.
As part of the current fundraising effort, The Radhuni and Itihaas are making significant contributions, with each restaurant donating a four-figure sum to the club. In addition, the businesses have recently committed to a new four-figure sponsorship of the team’s media output for the season.
Support of this kind is vital in helping safeguard the club’s future, ensuring Bonnyrigg Rose can continue to flourish and that football remains at the heart of the town for generations to come.
