Fog caused the suspension of play at the Scottish Open.

When Jon Rahm spoke after his third round, he was questioned about the fog. He explained how he couldn’t see his last few shots on the range and that he informed the organisers ten minutes before his tee time at 10:33 that it was a ‘joke’ that they were still going to play in the conditions.
When he reached the tee he ‘couldn’t believe’ the group ahead actually teed off. He was informed that as soon as the landing area wasn’t visible then they would halt play. Eventually they couldn’t see the landing area, so play was halted before Rahm could play a shot.
When I asked him how he stays physically and mentally prepared for his round when having to come in for these delays, he stated that he ‘just laughs.’ He went on to say that they just sat in the range café having an ‘extra coffee.’ He said how the fog got worse over time and at one point he couldn’t see the trees between holes 11 and 12 from the range, as the fog got that thick.
He finished by saying that it was ‘good’ to be out here this week and having ‘much more realistic weather’ – compared to the glorious couple of days we’ve had at the Renaissance so far – ‘because next week looks like we’re going to have a bit of everything as well.’
