Hibernian FC has confirmed that Warren O’Hora has joined English League One side, Leicester City, on a permanent transfer.
The terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
The Irish defender joined Hibs in summer 2024, and went on to make 85 appearances for the Club, stepping in to captain the side on several occasions and contributing three goals.
O’Hora was always readily available and popular with the fans for his attitude, application and dedication – he leaves with the best wishes from everyone at Hibernian FC.
Upon Warren’s departure, Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray commented: “Firstly, I would like to thank Warren for everything he has done for Hibernian FC. He constantly set the standards in training, and he is a true professional both on and off the pitch.
“We’re sad to see him go, but ultimately, we understand that this is a life-changing move for him and his young family. We wish him all the best of luck with the next chapter of his career moving forward.”
Hibernian FC Sporting Director, Malky Mackay added: “Since arriving as a free agent in 2024, it has been fantastic to see Warren go from strength-to-strength here at Hibs, and he has always represented our badge with pride.
“He has been an excellent professional and a perfect example to younger players, showing where talent, hard-work and commitment can get you.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Warren and his family, so once he expressed his desire to pursue the move and return to England – we were not going to stand in his way and began working on a deal that was right for the Football Club and all parties involved.
“We wish him all the best with next steps in his footballing journey and thank him for his contribution here at Hibs. He will always be welcome back at Easter Road.”
