Carriageway resurfacing works will be carried out on the B6369 leading into Haddington from the south.
These essential improvements by East Lothian Council are scheduled to begin on Monday, 5 October and are expected to last for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
To ensure the safety of both road users and site operatives, it will be necessary to close the B6369 from the junction with Briery Bank to the junction with Colstoun Road for the duration of the works.
A diversion route for vehicles will be signposted. Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
A council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience while these essential improvements take place.
“Please be aware the start and finish dates are subject to change due to the weatherdependent nature of the works.
“Updates on road restrictions will be published on www.tellmescotland.gov.uk which we use to notify the public of roadworks and temporary traffic management arrangements.”
