Wouter Vrancken spoke to the press today before Hearts’ huge European tie against Nordsjaelland.

When asked about the Thursday – Sunday schedule and whether his players will use that as an excuse, which is commonly heard throughout football, he stated:

“We will never use it as an excuse, because we fought hard for it to have the schedule, so I would be more disappointed when we didn’t play those games. And of course, the big teams want to play this game, but I have also the width of the squad, with a lot of quality players.”

When asked about the atmosphere during the qualifiers at Tynecastle and the importance of it, Wouter said:

“It’s always important. It’s always amazing to play every game we play here. Also, on Saturday again, we saw the atmosphere and as we’re always happy to play for our own fans and have to say they are also in the away games.
They are really supportive with a lot of people there. A lot of numbers. So I’m really happy about this.”

When asked about whether the team can make it to the Knockout stages he said:

“When you compete in some sort of competition, it’s not only to be there. You have to want to succeed to gain something, to aim for something, and then the games will tell if it was possible or not. But it’s always the aim to go to the next front.”

In a big blow for Hearts, Ageu has picked up an injury, speaking on it the Hearts boss said:

“Muscle is always difficult to say, because we will, for sure, be protective and don’t push him too hard and push him to those limits, but always keep in mind what you’ve been through already. So, no, for sure a week, I think, in 2 weeks, maybe, we will see, we will see how we adapt.”

He repeated many times throughout the interview that Hearts will “Have to show their quality”, in regard to getting a positive result tomorrow night.
